Using this tool
Start with one entrant per line
Enter 2 to 32 players or teams. Use distinct labels so you can identify every entrant. Seeded order treats the first line as seed 1, the second as seed 2, and so on. Shuffle entrants for a random initial seed order when everyone should start without a performance-based ranking.
Byes fill a bracket cleanly
Single elimination brackets use slots in powers of two. Six entrants fit an eight-slot bracket, leaving two first-round byes. A bye advances one entrant automatically without recording a played match. Seeded brackets allocate byes to the highest seeds; shuffled brackets randomize who receives those positions.
Advance winners as matches finish
Choose the winning entrant in each playable match. The winner moves into the next round. Correcting an earlier result clears affected later results so an eliminated entrant cannot remain the champion. The page tracks advancement, while you can use the separate scoreboard for points inside a match.
Keep a record before leaving
Print the bracket or copy the available results for a local record. Your tournament runs in this page and is not an online room. Refreshing or closing the page clears the bracket. This version supports single elimination, without double elimination, consolation matches or automatic scheduling.
Frequently asked questions
Can I make a bracket for 6 or 9 teams?
Yes. Six teams use eight slots with two byes. Nine teams use sixteen slots with seven byes. The generator advances byes automatically and keeps later matches waiting for their actual participants.
How many matches does single elimination need?
A completed single elimination tournament with N entrants needs N − 1 played matches to decide one winner, assuming each match eliminates one entrant and there are no extra placement games.
Can I share a live bracket with other devices?
There is no synchronized tournament room or hosted bracket link. Use the print and copy controls to share a snapshot. Changes remain in the current browser page.
