Wheel spinner guide
Spin the wheel with 2–20 custom options
The wheel is for moments when the selection process should be visible. Add between two and twenty names or choices, then spin while everyone can see the same options and result.
Use Random Picker instead when you want the shortest possible path to one result. The wheel adds suspense and works better on a shared screen.
Create and spin your random wheel
Add each name or option, remove mistakes, and press Spin. Every entry receives one equal-sized segment. The final pointer position selects one segment after the animation stops.
Equal entries and duplicate names
Each list entry receives one equal chance. If the same text appears twice, it occupies two segments and therefore has twice the combined chance of an item entered once. Check duplicates before a group activity if that is not what you intend.
Where the wheel list is stored
The current wheel list is saved in local browser storage for convenient reuse on the same device. It is not synced to an account and will not appear automatically in another browser. Clearing site data removes it.
Appropriate uses
Use the wheel for classroom turns, party challenges, presentation prompts, or lightweight non-regulated draws. It has no weighting, verified-audit, multi-winner, or regulated-giveaway features.
Frequently asked questions
How many wheel items can I add?
The wheel supports between 2 and 20 items.
Can I give one option more weight?
There is no weight control. Repeating an entry creates another equal segment, but make that rule clear to participants.
Why use the wheel instead of Random Picker?
Use the wheel when the visible process and suspense matter; use Random Picker when speed matters more.
